Our Coaches

The CWLCA is run and administered by a dedicated Academy team at Mawdesley Cricket Club. The Club has set up the Academy to provide coaching opportunities to players from other Clubs as well as its own Club members. It uses the expertise it is gained over the last 10 years in developing and growing its own junior section which has resulted in numerous players playing district and county cricket. This year it has had its first girl player selected for the County. All those who sign up for a course will automatically become members of the Academy.

The coaching team is led by Steve Critchley whose role as Director of Coaching is to oversee all the coaching staff, as well as leading on a number of the Academy’s programmes. Steve is supported by a number of experienced coaches from a variety of different Clubs within the Chorley and West Lancashire areas all of whom are actively involved in coaching cricket to young cricketers at either Club or District Level.

Testimonials

Our son loved the cricket camp, he enjoyed the netting best and would definitely attend another camp. Coach to player ratio was good.

Our son wasn’t really sure before the camp begun because he didn’t know if any of his good friends were going, but he had a brilliant time. He loved it.

Our son loved the camp and would like to attend the one at Easter if possible.

Our son really enjoyed the half term camp thank you, and thanks to the coaches.  He would also be keen to attend the next one please.

Many thanks for the time and help you have given the boys this week. They have thoroughly enjoyed the camp.

Our son really enjoyed the camp and it was great having an activity during the cold, wet and windy half term.

Our son was very positive about the camp, in summary, praising how well organised the sessions were.

I just know that our son really enjoyed the camp and he’d like to do the next one. I think the timing of the camp was spot on, indoor facilities were good. He said the group size was good and he enjoyed all of it! Thank you
